Green Cards Expired – Will Immigration Give Hard Time if We File for Replacement Green Cards Now?

Mrs. Huang asks:

My husband and I live in upstate New York.  My husband started working in the U.S. since 1995.  We received our green cards in 11/2001 through labor certification.  We have never left the U.S. therefore we neglected the green card due date of 11/2011.  As of today we have not apply to replace our green cards.  Can we now fill the forms and apply for new green cards?  Will Immigration give us problems for late filing?

Dear reader:

Although you neglected the green card due date of November 2011, you are still considered permanent residents of the States.  You can fill out the I-90 application to replace permanent resident card at this time with the $450 filing fee and send it to the U.S.C.I.S.
